In most circumstances, British Nationals with a passport can enter Cape Verde and buy a tourist visa at the airport. The tourist visa will cover you for 30 days. The visa will cost 25 Euros. NOTE: Discussions have taken place to waive the 30 day visa in 2019.

The airport arrival and departures area has received an upgrade 2017 -18. Once you have arrived on Sal Island and disembarked from the plane, passengers will enter the airport building. Make your way to Passport Control. Those wanting to obtain a 30 day Tourist Entry Visa should make their way to the queue at the far counter, which is different to the other cabin counters. Have your passport and money ready You can only pay in cash Euros cash Escudos. Once you have paid you will be told to continue to the baggage area. Keep your payment receipt with you.
If you do not have the cash in Euros to make the payment, the Customs will allow you to pass through and use your Bank Card at the ATM. Please make
sure your bank knows that you are visiting Cape Verde so that they do not block your card.
Some cards may not be accepted at ATM's. If you arrive during the day the bank may be open and you can exchange your currency for euros, but have your passport with you.
