Scuba Diving in Cape Verde

If your interest is in Cape Verde diving or Scuba diving Cabo Verde then there are a number of Scuba Diving school's and centre's who have what you are looking for.

Dive Centre's

There are a number of dive centre's situated along the coastline on a number of the islands which are popular as tourist destinations. Many are based along the coastline on the island of Sal, along Santa Maria beach near tourist hot spots and at hotels, while others are up on the west coast of the island where there are more hotels and resorts being built. However you would be best to look at each one individually to make sure you are choosing the dive center what each has to offer so you can decide which one best meets your needs.

Others are based along the coastline of Boa Vista Island, along Estoril beach stretching further towards the hotels and resorts built further up the coastline. Others will be found on Santiago and Sao Vicente. More dive center's will start up as the islands become busier.

Look online for dive centre's

If you are looking for more information about diving in Cape Verde, you want to learn to dive or have diving lessons, find out more about Cape Verde diving, Scuba diving holidays in Cape Verde, PADI, scuba diving certification or dive courses then please contact the individual dive centre's. If you are already a qualified diver and just want to dive off a particular island, then contact the dive centre's to ask about knowledge on the waters, they will have the knowledge and the experience to share with you.

A number of dive centre's operate out of hotels, but you do not need to sign up with that dive centre, there are others that you may find would be more suitable.

You need to know more about the qualified scuba diving instructors and the training they receive on a regular basis about the dive spots and any strong currents, whether they visit the same dive spots or different ones every day. Whether they provide quality over quantity so that numbers of divers are controlled for safety and security purposes. What languages divers speak or whether there are dive centre's that have more bookings with divers from particular country, nothing wrong with that but maybe it may make you feel that you can't join in conversations as much.

Check out what the recommendations are for each dive centre. Some are recommended by more tour operators then others, but also check for non-partnership recommendations, partnership recommendations may be unfairly biased towards one dive centre.

Many French Dive clubs may often book with Scuba Team Cabo Verde as they say they are considered as the best option by the French Federation Cmas for qualified divers. The French dive clubs chose Scuba Team Cabo Verde because they recognise the dive centre's team of qualified instructors. They are also a Beuchat Diving Centre.

A number of dive centre's welcome groups of qualified divers, dive masters and course directors who go out with them to dive in the waters around the islands. Some dive centre's have open water courses for for those that are of a young age, between 10-15 years of age and upwards. There will be many that offer Padi certification up to Dive Master. They will have all the equipment you need to experience diving in the ocean. For those that have never tried scuba diving before, qualified instructors will take you into the ocean so you can experience the feel of the water in your dive suit straight away, while others will use a swimming pool in which you will receive instruction.

During the whale season you may be lucky to see or at least hear the whales underwater or perhaps you may see dolphins, turtles, moray, manta ray and much more. The dive site Chouclasse on Sal Island is the best dive spot to see some beautiful yellow coral surrounded by various species of fish.

Check out whether the instructors are all qualified for Emergency first responce to assist any diver with vital problems. Many centre's can provide instructors who speak a number of languages to make your diving experience enjoyable and communications understood.

On the matter of emergency situations arising, please make sure you have the appropriate medical insurance cover which includes repatriation.

Also check out whether there are discounts if paying 20% of the booking in advance, or for groups or families booking scuba diving courses.

If you are interested in experiencing diving for the first time or you are an experienced diver and wish to dive with any of the dive centre's, please contact them using directly. More info via adverts on side of page.
